    TBSU (Toronto Black Singles United) events are curated, in-person experiences designed to help Black singles connect in real life; no swiping, just genuine vibes, good energy, and meaningful conversations.

  • Who is TBSU for?

    TBSU is for Black singles of all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. We welcome everyone; regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or relationship goals.

  • Who can attend?

    Our events are open to Black single men and women within the age range specified for each event. We aim to create a safe, fun, and inclusive space for like-minded individuals.

  • Do I have to be looking for a serious relationship?

    Nope. Whether you’re looking for love, companionship, or just want to enjoy a good time with other singles, you’re welcome at TBSU.

  • Will there be filming or photography at the events? What if I prefer not to be filmed?

    Yes, some events may include filming and photography to capture the fun and promote future gatherings. If you'd rather not appear on camera, just let our team know when you arrive, and we'll make sure to respect your privacy.

  • How many people attend a TBSU event?

    Attendance varies, but we strive for a balanced male-to-female ratio and a good mix of ages and personalities. Some events are more intimate; others are lively and large-scale.


  • Will I have to speak in front of a crowd?

    Not at all! TBSU events are low-pressure and focused on one-on-one or small group interactions. No public speaking, just mingling.

  • What if I don’t meet someone I’m interested in?

    That’s okay. You’ll still enjoy music, games, conversations, and a welcoming community. Sometimes friendship is the first spark.

  • Can I bring a friend?

    Absolutely! TBSU encourages you to bring a black single friend. Just make sure they register too; each guest must RSVP separately.

  • Is alcohol served?

    Some TBSU events feature cocktails, mocktails, or cash bars. Others may be alcohol-free. Check the event details for specifics.

  • How do I register?

    Head to the event listing and click the RSVP or ticket link. Spaces are limited and go fast; so register early!

  • What’s the refund policy?

    Tickets are non-refundable 

  • Will my information be shared?

    No. Your privacy matters. We don’t share your personal info with anyone outside of TBSU.

  • What’s the age range?

    All adults are welcome, but the average age of our members is 30s to 50+. We design events that cater to mature, intentional individuals who value genuine connections.

  • Do I have to be looking for love or a relationship to join?

    Not at all. Some come for dating, others for friendship, and many simply want to enjoy positive energy with other singles in the city.

  • Are LGBTQ+ singles welcome?

    Absolutely. TBSU celebrates and welcomes singles of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Inclusion is at the heart of what we do.

  • Is this a dating service?

    No, TBSU is not a matchmaking or dating service. We're a community that hosts in-person events and experiences where singles can naturally connect.

  • Can I attend if I’m newly single or not ready to date?

    Yes. Whether you’re healing, curious, or just want to get out and meet new people, you’ll find a supportive, non-judgmental space at TBSU.

  • Can I bring a friend who's not Black?

    TBSU centers Black singles, but we welcome supportive allies and friends who respect and align with our mission of creating safe, joyful spaces for Black people.

  • Is there a dress code?

    Each event may vary, but we usually suggest “confident casual” or theme-based dress. Come as your best, authentic self!

  • How do I join or stay updated?

    Follow us on social media, join our mailing list, or RSVP for an event! We’re building a vibrant, connected community; one meetup at a time.

  • What if I’m shy or introverted?

    We design our events to be welcoming for all personality types, with icebreakers, conversation starters, and friendly hosts to help everyone feel included.


  • What does it cost to attend?

    Some events are free; others have a ticket price. We aim to keep things affordable while delivering high-quality experiences. VIP options may also be available.
